Job Description:

The User Interface/User Experience (UI/UX) Designer participates in a variety of UI/UX activities that lead to superior application experiences for end users. The incumbent will work across teams to contribute to the development of engaging, positive user experiences for digital solutions for internal UPS customers. This position participates in research, analysis, design and usability testing activities along with supporting documentation for project related activities and tasks. The incumbent participates in and is a contributor to the creation of visual interactive user experiences that play a central role in future development efforts. This position follows UI/UX design standards, guidelines and strategies that will serve as the foundation for creating cohesive experiences. The incumbent supports the UI/UX department strategy, the integration of the user experience team and these concepts within UPS, and multiple project deliverables across the enterprise.

Job Responsibilities:

• Identifies new and emerging UI/UX design strategies, research techniques, and user trends to maintain industry competitiveness
• Works collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure that designs are successfully created and implemented to achieve the user goals
• Promotes testing of new ideas before implementing
• Communicates and documents research, analysis, and test results to ensure consistency and accuracy
• Documents newly created interaction models, user/task flows and screen designs to ensure consistency, reusability, and future optimization
• Contributes to intuitive, engaging design solutions to satisfy various user experiences including websites, native mobile, product user interfaces, other digital initiatives, and all points in between (i.e., wireframes, flows, mockups and visual prototypes)
• Facilitates collaboration among stakeholders to achieve project goals and objectives
• Communicates and prepares proper presentations to provide timely updates
• Develops technical and business requirements and always strives to deliver intuitive and user-centered solutions
• Optimizes existing user interface designs and combines creativity with an awareness of the design elements to create new ones
• Monitors project activities to ensure governance, standards, and policies compliance
• Monitors the industry to gain knowledge and understanding of emerging technologies

Job Requirements:

• Demonstrates excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Digital Portfolio is a requirement
• Possesses ability to discuss and explain design options
• Displays critical thinking skill and is detail oriented
• Knowledge of usability factors and Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) accessibility compliance in Human Computer Interaction
• Must be a U.S. Citizen or National of the U.S., an alien lawfully admitted for permanent residence, or an alien authorized to work in the U.S. for this employer
• Employer will not sponsor a visa for this or future positions
• Must be currently located in the same geographic location as the job or willing to relocate yourself

Qualification & Experience:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience working as a UI/UX Designer or in a similar role
• Bachelor’s degree (or internationally comparable degree) in relevant field
• Experience using products such as Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Adobe XD and Figma
