Job Description:

Joining the Secret Service, Office of Investigations, Newark Field Office will allow you to perform technical support services and provide command control, communications and coordination of activities for a safe and secure environment for all protectees and other stakeholders at USSS protected facilities.

Job Responsibilities:

The selectee will serve as a Telecommunications Specialist in the Office of Investigations, Newark Field Office. Typical work assignments include:

  • Providing technical support and information to Special Agents by coordinating and exercising safety protocols.
  • Maintaining a database log of criminal history requests, and incidents occurring during the shift; providing information by searching databases, researching and collecting data, identifying inaccuracies and anomalies in collected information.
  • Preparing incident reports on protective and criminal information received and routing information for immediate response by an agent.
  • Providing technical support and information to Special Agents by operating and monitoring a multi-frequency radio telecommunications console.

Job Requirements:

  • Submit to random drug testing while you occupy the position.
  • Submit to a polygraph examination prior to your appointment.
  • Work irregular hours, evenings, weekends, holidays, shift work, and frequently changing shifts; and assignments are subject to change without notice.
  • Work is primarily performed in a fully capable, 24/7 Operations Center.
