Job Description:

This role will be responsible for, working with an agile team on new software/hardware platforms which include sensors, interaction methods, mobile solutions (in/out of car), web services, partner solutions and connected cloud services to end user services. The work will range from ideation and scouting to joint development of new applications, all the way to validation with our partners and end users. You will also analyze potential technology alternatives and experiment with the latest innovations in the Silicon Valley ecosystem.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Program, develop, and prototype web, mobile and embedded applications using the latest technology solutions and software.
  • Work collaboratively with internal product/services managers, research/innovation teams from Nissan, the Renault-Nissan Alliance and also 3rd parties.
  • Create and maintain ecosystem relationships with key players in the Silicon Valley and other relevant locations for technology/service scouting and benchmarking activities.
  • Analyze potential technology alternatives and experiment with the latest innovations.
  • Build-up of proof of concepts and prototypes leading to production.

Job Requirements:

  • Hands-on experience building full-stack web services and mobile/web applications.
  • Broad experience integrating APIs and SDKs.
  • Proof of concepts development within the automotive industry.
  • Excellent knowledge of Java and/or Kotlin programming languages.
  • Experience with Android development.
  • 3 to 7 years professional experience in software development.
  • Ability to travel (domestic and international).
  • Experience with iOS development.
  • Unit testing/validation/code review experience.
  • Driver’s license in order to test solutions/services.
  • Experience using OAuth authorization framework.
  • Experience using Git.
  • Understanding of system designs.
  • Experience with 3D CG programming and modeling (Unity, OpenGL, Blender).
  • Experience integrating a variety of HMIs and sensors.
  • Knowledge of other programming languages such as JavaScript, C#, C/C++, Python, Objective-C, Swift, etc.
  • Knowledge of automotive related bus protocols and standards (CAN, OBD).
