Job Responsibilities:
- New equipment specification development, installation, and startup, as well as modification of existing equipment for improvement activities
- Application of SPC, FMEA, SCC / Gantt chart, and control plans
- New model development – ability to manage schedule and casting trials for new cylinder block models from design phase through implementation phase
- Current model development – lead the development and implementation of casting process kaizens that target quality, operational, and die life improvements
- Working knowledge of aluminum melting, degassing methods, high pressure die casting equipment, casting die modification and assembly, gating removal, PLC and robot programming, heat treatment, and finishing equipment
- Ability to manage die design and manufacture of die cast dies and all of its components
Job Requirements:
- Thorough computer knowledge such as word processor, spreadsheet, other PC applications or mainframe applications, specifically NX/Inventor
- Casting experience, specifically high pressure die casting, is preferred.
- Required: B.S. in Engineering or related field.
- Ability to understand part, subassembly or system dimensional layouts.
- Strong verbal, written communication, and problem solving skills.
- Working knowledge of quality control assessments such as statistical process control.
