McDonalds Job Application – Real Estate Assistant Accountant Project Support

Job Description:

We are looking to add to our dynamic team and this is a great opportunity to work at one of the most valuable and iconic brands in the world. The key role of the Real Estate Assistant Accountant Project Support is to support GBS with the system
transition to Tririga Phase 3. Ensuring the correct accounting records are maintained for all current and future lease commitments for McDonald’s UK and Ireland.

Job Responsibilities:

• Complying to US GAAP & Technical accounting policy (McAbs) with regards lease accounting
• Supporting and working with wider Finance team and Surveyors on both Real Estate and Lease accounting
• Developing and maintaining strong compliance to and partnerships with Business Controls, Global Internal Audit and External Audit teams
• Supporting Real Estate/Lease Accountant with performance and adhering to any related internal and SOX controls
• Supporting the CAMs team with schedules within Tririga, including year-end budget information, which drives financial reporting
• Proactively seek to continuously improve processes and policies
• Analyse and reconcile data
• Support the UKI GBS & Finance team in preparing and producing accurate and complete McDonald’s financial statements
• Implementing robust controls to limit any exposure to avoid potential liability to the business
• Support with any back filling of daily tasks within the Real Estate team
• Build and developing partnering relationships with partners, providing advice, guidance as it relates to the process to uphold internal controls, UK GAAP and US GAAP standards.

Job Requirements:

• Experience of SOX and a Company with strong internal controls (ideal but not crucial)
• A track record of being able to translate problems into clear, achievable solutions for your team – delegating in a fast-paced environment
• Ambitious and looking to learn, develop and growth within the organisation
• Strong/Advanced Excel skills
• Strong, diligent, analytical skills – an ability to ask questions to breakdown problems, identify trends and creating action, solutions and change
• A genuine curiosity to understand the “why” and challenge the status quo
• 3+ years of accounting experience in UK GAAP (ideally US GAAP also)
• Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
• Good networker – an ability to work cross-functionally, building strong relationships and influence over partners
• Critical thinking – “connecting the dots” between our strategy and our numbers
• A desire to invest in talent development
• Passion for finance
