Job Description:
UPS is seeking a dynamic Procurement intern to support Procurement operations initiatives. They will conduct project-based work involving data analytics, process evaluation, and project management. The candidate will need to be able to conduct a thorough analysis to understand organizational spending patterns and assists in recommending, developing, and implementing process improvements within the group. The Procurement Intern role collaborates with global, cross-functional UPS teams, leveraging technology and employing critical thinking to drive efficiencies. The Intern collaborates with a variety of management levels on projects that contribute to the success of the team. This position performs other career related responsibilities as assigned.
Job Responsibilities:
- Conducts analysis to understand purchasing patterns and prioritize improvement efforts
- Analyzes aspects of the S2P process and identifies improvement opportunities
- Communicates project progress with management
- Assists in development of project plans (i.e., detailed plan, milestones, and work breakdown structures) and ensures project will be completed on time and according to specifications
Job Requirements:
- Possesses SQL knowledge
- Adapts to project needs
- Ability to understand and use technology
- Possesses excellent communication, analytical, and critical thinking skills
- Proficient with advanced Microsoft Office skills
