Job Description:

At Andaz San Diego the Human Resources Manager will be known for their knowledge of HR programs, processes and tools.  They will act as the frontline consultant to the Hotel, working with leaders in creating a positive colleague experience and offering the best HR advice on people matters. They operate and are seen as subject matter experts, having knowledge in company and local programs, processes and policies; and offer strong, credible and compelling advice to operational leaders on how to manage their team. They are dedicated to collaboration with multiple leaders throughout the hotel and other HR peers. This person must have the ability to run a Human Resources office with a Directors support offsite.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide guidance to operational leaders on change initiatives
  • Act as a role model of the colleague experience
  • Act as the point of contact for people tools, processes, programs and projects
  • Manage colleague programs to drive improvements in colleague engagement
  • Coach, train and guide leaders through the process to ensure compliance
  • Engage colleagues in interactive process as necessary
  • Investigate accidents and ensure return to work program is in place

Job Requirements:

  • Refined verbal and written communication skills
  • Basic knowledge of current Federal, State and Local employment and labor laws
  • Flexibility and adaptability to a quickly changing workforce and department structure
  • A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast paced environment

Qualification & Experience:

  • 1-2 years of relevant Human Resources leadership experience
