Job Description:
Additive Manufacturing Technician – Responsible for managing the polymer based Additive Manufacturing part production enterprise utilizing a host of industry leading additive manufacture machines (Selective Laser Sintering, Fused Deposition Modelling) to support prototype vehicle development. Focus of the job duties encompass processing data, operating Additive Manufacturing systems and preparing the models once they have been built. This includes, but is not limited to, removing support material, inspecting parts for build defects and abnormalities, processing final part delivery workflow, loading, and unloading builds, general equipment, and lab maintenance.
Job Responsibilities:
- Educate customers Additive Manufacturing offerings and how the technologies work
- Technology investigation and capital investment planning, budgeting, justification, execution, logistics
- Provide exceptional customer service
- Execute changeover, including remove parts from Additive Manufacturing machines, and start builds based on schedule and current part stocks
- Maintain and coordinate the schedule and work performed by conducting careful planning, and scheduling of work orders to achieve company goals
- Manage material and operating supply budget, inventories, ordering, receiving
- Additive Manufacturing process improvements
- Manage software upgrades for data processing applications and equipment systems
- Additive Manufacturing production support management – early concept, prototype vehicle development, mass production countermeasure part production.
- Maintain safety protocols and safe practices for each AM technology – apply safety improvements
- Generate reports for part production output, operating supplies
- Manage classified documents, parts, and systems
- Acts as a subject matter expert in the printing/processing of components as well as additional processes that lead to the completion of finished products
Job Requirements:
- Requires a minimum of 10 years of related experience
- Requires HS diploma or GED
- Preferred previous Additive Manufacturing experience
- Proficiency in MS Office (MS Excel, MS Outlook, and MS Word)
- Proficient with PostProcess Technologies Base system software and machine operation/maintenance
- Proficient with Stratasys Insight data processing, Control Center build preparation/planning/scheduling software and 900mc operation/maintenance
- Proficient with DyeMansion DM60 dye processing and PowerShot blasting machine software/operation/maintenance
- Proficient with EOS PSW, slicing and machine function software and P100, P396, P770 machine operation/maintenance
- Experience with fabrication, evaluating, and testing processes
- Proficient with CATIA/CAD, Additive manufacturing software – Materialise: Magics, Streamics, EOS: PSW/Slicing, Stratasys: Insight/Control Center, PostProcess Technologies, DyeMansion, SpaceClaim
- Proficient with Materialise MAGICS data processing, 3D model preparation/repair, sectioning, nesting, build preparation, Streamics planning/scheduling software
- Related technical/associates degree preferred
